The Day After

I hope you all are recovering and do not have too bad of a day-after-Christmas-hangover. TJ and I downed 4 bottles of wine with the stuffed pork tenderloin I made for our holiday dinner yesterday afternoon, so we never made it to Dreamgirls. I have to be honest, I didn't really have very high expectations for Christmas this year, but it turned out to be very nice.

I spent Christmas Eve with my ex-boyfriend. Just to quickly get you all up to speed, we broke up a year and a-half ago. No big blowout - it just wasn't working. He had a lot going on, I was working at a horrible job and was miserable. This is the first time I've ever stayed friends with someone I used to be in a relationship with. It's tricky, because to be honest with you a part of me still loves him and always will, and I know he feels the same way. And, the last few weeks he's really been there for me. He brought me to the airport and picked me up when I went to Orlando last week, and helped out with the trip in many, many ways. So, it was nice to spend some time with him at Christmas. In fact, I spent more time than I expected as I didn't get home until noon on Christmas Day (get your mind out of the gutters - we were just snuggly - sex would lead to another whole set of issues.) But, it was really nice to wake up on Christmas morning in the arms of someone who you know loves you. So, that was my holiday. Today I need to tidy up and get outside. It's pretty rainy here, but I'm in severe need of a long walk to clear the brain. Have a good day everyone! Hope your holidays were safe and fun! Now it's time to get ready for New Years!!!
